I am overjoyed to be a part of Team 3 with The Midwifery Group, located on the traditional unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations.

I first experienced the power of client-centered care at a friend’s home birth in 2014. Her midwife was nurturing and confident in her capacity to give birth and this forever impacted me. As I attended subsequent births as a doula, I began to curiously observe the midwives. I found myself inspired by their holistic approach; my spirit of inquiry strengthened as I did more research, attended lectures and completed numerous pregnancy and birth trainings. It became apparent that my next step was to begin catching babies as a certified midwife!

Prior to completing my midwifery education at UBC, I instructed yoga at large and small community based studios around Vancouver and led retreats for over a decade. Through teaching, I witnessed the fullness of the human experience and the power of the mind/body connection. I strive to bring this knowledge into the birth world and aspire to provide midwifery care that encourages informed decision-making, autonomy and empowerment.

In my spare time, you can find me on my yoga mat, enjoying nature, ecstatic dancing, making music playlists, and hanging out with my partner and toddler (born in March 2020 - a pandemic baby!).
